1. Eligibility
Players must be 18 years or older to participate in The Rec 44 Rec Leagues unless otherwise specified for youth divisions.
Youth participants (under 18) must have a parent or legal guardian complete registration and authorize participation by signing the consent form.
All players must complete the registration process, including payment of all fees, to be eligible to play.
2. Registration
All players must register individually or as part of a team by the deadlines specified by The Rec 44.
For youth participants, a parent or legal guardian must complete the registration and provide authorization for the child to participate.
The registration fee is non-refundable unless the league is canceled by The Rec 44.
Registration includes league fees, game scheduling, and access to facilities during official league events.
3. Waiver of Liability
By registering, players and guardians (for youth participants) acknowledge and accept that participation in basketball may involve physical risks.
Players and guardians agree to release The Rec 44, its staff, and facility owners from any liability for injuries, loss, or damage suffered in connection with participation in the league, including practices, games, or events.
4. Code of Conduct
Players, including youth participants, are expected to display good sportsmanship and respect for referees, teammates, opponents, and staff.
Aggressive behavior, verbal abuse, fighting, or any unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and may result in suspension or removal from the league without a refund.
Parents or guardians of youth players are expected to model appropriate behavior at games and events.
5. Uniforms and Equipment
Teams are responsible for providing their own uniforms, subject to league rules regarding colors and numbering.
Players must wear appropriate footwear (non-marking athletic shoes) and bring their own basketballs for warm-ups.
6. Game Scheduling and Attendance
Players and teams are responsible for being aware of their game schedules, which will be posted by The Rec 44.
Teams must have the minimum number of players (as outlined by the league rules) available for each game. Failure to do so may result in a forfeit.
The Rec 44 reserves the right to reschedule games due to unforeseen circumstances, such as inclement weather or facility issues.
7. Health and Safety
Players, including youth participants, agree to adhere to all health and safety protocols set forth by The Rec 44, including any guidelines related to COVID-19 or other health advisories.
Parents or guardians of youth participants are responsible for ensuring that their child is in proper health and physical condition to participate in the league.
8. Refunds and Cancellations
The Rec 44 reserves the right to cancel or postpone games or the league for any reason, including but not limited to low registration numbers, facility issues, or health and safety concerns.
In the event of cancellation by The Rec 44, a prorated refund or credit will be issued at the discretion of management.
9. Photography and Media Release
By participating in The Rec 44 Rec Leagues, players and guardians grant permission for The Rec 44 to use their or their child’s likeness in any promotional materials, photos, or videos taken during league events.
10. Guardian Authorization (Youth Players)
For youth participants, a parent or legal guardian must authorize the child’s participation by completing the required consent form during registration.
The parent or guardian acknowledges that they have read and agreed to the terms and conditions on behalf of the child.
